ANNABELLE’S TOP 3 MEMORABLE SCARY MOVIES

I have to say, these days I’m a bit of a wuss and avoid scary movies wherever possible! But when I was younger and a little more daring, I watched my fair share, and these are three that stuck with me for one reason or another:

  1. Event Horizon
Wow, this film gave me nightmares. We went to see the midnight showing, and I’d never been so scared walking back to my car before. Everything about that film creeped me out.
  2. Poltergeist
The one scene that will be forever stuck in my head from this movie, is the face peeling scene. At the time, it was the grossest thing I’d ever watched. It still makes me cringe now when I think about it. It’s probably just as well I was too young at the time to go see it at the cinema.
  3. Silence of the Lambs
I love Anthony Hopkins. I love this film, because I’m more a fan of suspense than gore. Although it has it’s moments. I saw this at the cinema, and the bit at the end where’s she’s in the dark had me watching from behind my fingers. I always wonder if it would’ve been creepy to watch a screening of this with Anthony Hopkins sat behind you.

Out of all the scary movies I’ve watched, these three still make me shudder, and I’m not sure I’d watch them now. Definitely not the first two anyway!

I don’t watch a lot of scary films but I absolutely love The Adams Family films

  2. Didi says:

I’m too chicken to watch any of your listed movies. 🙂 I don’t like to be scared at by a movie, there’s at least got to be some sort of humour in it, like Fraser’s Mummies. That, I can still watch. The latest scary movie I watched in full were “A Quiet Place” and I admit to watch part of it with eyes half closed. :p

  3. Sharon L says:

I prefer to watch comedy horrors e.g. Black Sheep, Warm Bodies or A Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse

  4. Claudia says:

Seven. Hands down, the most scary psychological thriller I have even seen *shudders* The last scene still haunts me.
And an honourable second place for the first version of ‘The Shinning’, the one with Jack Nicholson. His crazy face by the end of the film… *more shudders*

  5. Linda A. says:

The closest I come to scary movies are the M. Night Shyamalan movies. “The Sixth Sense”, “Signs”, etc.

  6. Michelle H. says:

Insidious is my favorite scary movie… Happy Halloween!!
